Legislation in Texas Could Land You WIthout a Car

No license in Texas? No vehicle. It's a controversial piece of legislation under consideration in Austin.

It would see your car is towed if you're caught driving without a license.Police aren't really speaking out about the legislation, but critics are. One civil rights group believes the bill discriminates because they say minorities are more likely to drive without a license.

It's unclear how many unlicensed drivers travel the roads in Texas.

But more than 12% of all drivers in California, which has a similar law, are believed to be unlicensed.

If the Texas bill passes, it would affect many of the state's 1.5 million undocumented immigrants who, along with other illegal drivers, could soon face steep consequences for getting behind the wheel.
