Downtown Beautification Project At Halfway Point

New developments on the Wichita Falls downtown beautification project.

Duke construction company representatives have indicated that the downtown intersection project is at the halfway point. The current schedule of activity has been updated with some important openings and closings of downtown streets:

On March 14th the west side of the Scott and 8th Street intersection will reopen and the east side will be closed.

The east side of the Scott and 8th Street intersection is tentatively set to reopen on April 11th

A tentative date to close the entire intersection of Lamar St. and 8th St. is scheduled for March 23rd.

The Lamar and 8th Street intersection is tentatively set to reopen on May 4th.

Citizens in the affected areas will be notified of water interruptions at least 48 hours in advance. All downtown businesses will have vehicle and pedestrian access throughout the construction process.
