Soccer Roundup: WFHS Sweeps Hirschi, Rider Girls Win

The Wichita Falls High School Coyotes faced Hirschi Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium, and came away with a 3-0 win.

Jose Lugo got the Coyotes on top in the first half, then Edgar Lopez scored while laying on the ground to make it 2-0 at halftime.

Carlos Hernandez scored in the second half for the final margin.

The Coyotes improve to 14-1-4 overall this season, 6-1 in District 9-4A. They'll face Decatur on Friday at McNiel Field at 7 PM.

The Huskies fall to 3-10-3 overall, and will face Rider Friday at Memorial Stadium.

Lady Coyotes Finish Strong for Win

The WFHS Lady Coyotes started a little sluggishly Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, but pulled away in the second half for a 7-0 win over Hirschi.

Payton Fookes led the way with two goals and two assists, while Courtney Evers had a goal and three helpers.

Amber Garcia, Loudell Crumpler, Courtney Beer and Lizet Gonzalez also scored for Old High, who improves to 18-1-1 overall, 6-0-1 in district play heading into their matchup with Decatur Friday at 5 PM in Decatur.

Hirschi falls to 2-5 in district, and will face Rider Friday.

Rider Girls Win in Burkburnett

The Rider Lady Raiders went up to Bulldog Stadium and took a 5-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday.

Alli Brewer scored a pair of goals to lead the Lady Raiders (16-3-3, 6-0-1), who will face the Lady Huskies Friday at 5 PM at Memorial Stadium.
