HS Softball Roundup: March 8

The Rider Lady Raiders opened up District 4-4A play with a 14-0 run-rule win at Little Elm in five innings.

Sammie Hislop struck out eleven batters for the win.

Morgan Lewis went 4/4 from the plate, scoring two runs and driving in five. She had two doubles and a triple, falling a home run short of the cycle.

WFHS Falls in Opener

The Wichita Falls High School Lady Coyotes fell 18-11 in their district opener Tuesday night at Sunrise Optimist Field.

The Lady Coyotes fell behind 11-1 in the early going and while the offense finally did get going, they were never really able to get close to tying it.

Brenna Bachman took the loss in the circle, but held her own at the plate, going 2/3 with a home run and a double.

Holliday Win District 9-2A Game

The Holliday Lady Eagles defeated Krum 10-5 in their district opener Tuesday night.

Jill Ledford went 4/4 with four runs batted in and struck out 11 batters for the win.

During Spring Break, the Lady Eagles will play a few games, starting with a double-header Saturday at noon against Vernon at home.

Then they will travel to Seymour to face the Lady Panthers Monday at noon.

Windthorst Wins Road Game

The Windthorst Trojanettes won 8-1 at Lindsay in a non-district game Tuesday night.

Kelsey Hise and Brittney Schreiber combined on a 2-hitter in the circle, while Hise added a 3/4 night from the plate, driving in four runs.

The Trojanettes will have the next week off for Spring Break, before facing Class 3A Bowie on St. Patrick's Day in Bowie.

Iowa Park Blows Out Olney

The Iowa Park Lady Hawks beat up on Olney in non-district action Tuesday night at home, taking a 24-1 win in three innings.

Bailey Voigt led the hit parade by going 4/4 with four runs scored and eight batted in, including a grand slam.

Iowa Park will compete in the Graham Tournament this weekend.
