Burkburnett City Commissioners unanimously voted on a final candidate for the permanent city manager position Wednesday. They selected Tim James of Graham.
James has been serving as Assistant City Manager in Graham for the last four years. Before that, he served as City Engineer in Flower Mound and Keller. Mayor Carl Law said it is that combination of administrative leadership and big-project experience that makes James the ideal candidate.
City officials will still have to come to an agreement with James before commissioners can vote to hire him. Mayor Law said he expects that to happen by March 21. If James and commissioners come to an agreement by then, Mayor Law said he could start as early as April 4.
Terms of an agreement have not been disclosed. Mayor Law said that will be available if they reach an agreement with James.
