Soccer: Rider Boys Shut Out Hirschi

The #2 Rider Raiders jumped out early and cruised to a 5-0 win Friday afternoon over the Hirschi Huskies at Memorial Stadium.

Cole Wachsman scored two goals, while Chase Roberts, Ryan Castelli and Mike Dix each scored once.

The Raiders are now 17-2-2 overall on the season, 8-0 in District 9-4A.

They will face Wichita Falls HS on Monday at 7 PM at Memorial Stadium, then head to Decatur Tuesday to finish the regular season.

WFHS Scores a Dozen Against Decatur

The Old High Coyotes rang up a dozen goals Friday night against Decatur at McNiel Junior High field.

Carlos Hernandez led the way with two goals and two assists, while Diego Saldana added two goals.

Omar Vera registered two assists for the Coyotes.

The Coyotes (7-1 in district) will take on Rider Monday night for a chance to avenge their 1-0 loss earlier in the year and share the 9-4A title.

They finish the regular season Tuesday in Gainesville.

WFHS Girls Blow Out Decatur

The Lady Coyotes went to Decatur and scored a 10-0 win over the Lady Eagles.

Payton Fookes, Sierra Anderson and Brianne Eipper each recorded two goals for Old High, while Fookes added two assists and Cassidy Beer rang up a hat trick's worth of helpers.

The Lady Coyotes, 7-0-1 in district play, will take on Rider at 5 PM Monday for the District 9-4A championship, then finish up at home against Gainesville on Tuesday.
