For much of this season, there was something missing from the Midwestern State Mustang Mens basketball team.
No one could quite put a finger on what 'it' was, but in the last two games, they've found it.
Saturday afternoon they finally got over the Tarleton State hump, then on Sunday night they rolled over the #9 team in the nation, Missouri Southern, for a 23-point win.
Tonight they'll face 4th-ranked Central Oklahoma, the tournament hosts, for a shot at their second-straight trip to Springfield, MA for the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Earlier this season, MSU faced the Bronchos in Edmond and fell 68-61. The Mustangs had trouble with UCO's Dauntae Williams, who scored 24 points and added 15 rebounds.
Central Oklahoma enters tonight's action with a 25-game home winning streak at Hamilton Field House, dating back to Dec. 15, 2009, but they don't get much of a home-court advantage.
Over their 16 home games, they drew an average of only 859 fans, roughly half of the current capacity of the building. There is a good chance that MSU could have more of a crowd in the building than the Bronchos.
