Atkinson's passenger told police a similar story. However the passenger said that when Atkinson honked her horn and yelled to them to get out of the way, the boys yelled back . The passenger said that's when Atkinson drove in the direction of the victim and hit his bicycle. The passenger said it appeared to be an intentional action by Atkinson. The passenger was asking for Atkinson to stop, but she drove to her house and walked back to the scene.
