Texoma Woman Charged For Intentionally Hitting A Bicyclist

A 51 year old woman is in jail accused of hitting a bicyclist with her vehicle.

Wichita Falls police were sent to 1200 14th street on February 26th in reference to an accident. Officers spoke to Tracy Atkinson about the accident. Atkinson told police several males on bicycles surrounded her car in the roadway. She then said one of them swerved into the front of her vehicle, hitting the bumper.

A witness told police Atkinson honked her horn and told the bicyclists to get out of the road. The witness said Atkinson drove her vehicle into the lanes, hitting one of the bicyclist, causing him to fall off his bike.

Atkinson's passenger told police a similar story. However the passenger said that when Atkinson honked her horn and yelled to them to get out of the way, the boys yelled back . The passenger said that's when Atkinson drove in the direction of the victim and hit his bicycle. The passenger said it appeared to be an intentional action by Atkinson. The passenger was asking for Atkinson to stop, but she drove to her house and walked back to the scene.

Atkinson was charged with Aggravated Assault.
