Lake Wichita Survey Brings Good News

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has good news for local anglers.

The survey results of Hybrid Striped Bass and Channel Catfish populations at Lake Wichita were very encouraging.

The numbers are exceeding expectations.

With nets sampling of 14 different species, officials say the fish population is bouncing back nicely after a large golden algae fish kill in 2009.

They do say those who fish from a boat should be aware that using the Lake Wichita boat ramp could be difficult as water levels continue to drop.
