Mother Of Missing West Texas Cheerleader Arrested

COLORADO CITY, Texas (AP) - The mother of a missing 13-year-old girl from West Texas has been arrested and charged with obstructing justice.

Colorado City's city manager, Pete Kampfer, says Billie Jean Dunn questions to the Mitchell County Jail.

Jail officials say the 33-year-old Dunn was booked into custody and charged with hindering apprehension and prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs and obstructing justice.

All are misdemeanors.

Dunn reported her daughter, middle school cheerleader Hailey Darlene Dunn, missing on Dec. 28.

A court appearance is scheduled for Friday morning. Dunn does not yet have an attorney.

The mother's former live-in boyfriend previously was named a person of interest in the case.

Both Shawn Adkins and Billie Dunn have denied having any involvement in the girl's disappearance.
