As Irving MacArthur lined up to get their medals after its 74-51 demolition of Georgetown in the 5A final, some the players started chanting in unison "Tattoo, tattoo" to MacArthur coach Suzie Oelschlegel.
Seems like Coach O made a pretty hefty wager with her team earlier in the season: Win a state title, and she would get a tattoo.
Ayriel Anderson, one of Saturday's stars, pointed to her wrist as a possible destination for the tattoo, which would feature the team's motto: "We n dat thang." Grammarians wince at the indignity.
Oelschlegel said she'd ensure that the location of the tattoo would be in a hard-to-see location.
