Community Development Director Speaks About His Plans

The city of Wichita Falls has a new Community Development Director. Norman Standerfer started his job on March 14th.

City Manager Darron Leiker said Standerfer "brings a wealth of public and private sector experience to the organization. I am confident that he will excel in his new role, and I look forward to having him on my management team."

Standerfer spoke to Newschannel 6 about his new job and his plans. He said "we've got a darn nice suburban area, but I want to see a strong, vibrant downtown. So that's a big, close to my heart issue."

Standerfer was born in Wichita Falls before moving to Oklahoma with his family then returned to attend Midwestern State University his freshmen year. Standerfer will oversee planning, building inspections, code enforcement, housing, neighborhood resources and property management.
