HS Baseball: Rider Shuts out The Colony

Blake Brom hit a solo home run and Cameron Allen pitched a shutout to lead the Rider Raiders to an 11-0 win over The Colony Friday night at Hoskins Field.

The Raiders, riding a 10-game winning streak, improve to 17-5 overall on the season and 4-0 in District 4-4A.

They will visit Denton Tuesday afternoon at 4 PM to face the Broncos, before facing rival Wichita Falls High School next Friday night at 7:30 PM at Hoskins.

Coyotes Fall at Lake Dallas

The WFHS Coyotes dropped an 11-4 decision Friday night in Lake Dallas.

The Coyotes committed eight errors in falling to 11-9 overall and 1-3 in District 4-4A.

Bucky Daws took the loss to fall to 2-2 overall.

The Coyotes will continue a tough week, hosting Frisco Liberty in a non-district game Saturday at 1 PM at Hoskins Field.

Then they will host Denton Ryan on Tuesday before facing cross-town rival Rider Friday night.

Big First Inning Helps Burkburnett over Hirschi

The Burkburnett Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first inning on five walks and just two hits to beat Hirschi 12-0 at Hoskins Field.

Joe Barron struggled with his command Friday, as the Bulldogs scored their dozen runs on just four hits.

Hirschi falls to 8-7 overall and 1-1 in District 6-3A, while Burkburnett improves to 10-8 and 2-0 in the district.

The Bulldogs will be at home Tuesday against Iowa Park (1-1 in district).

Electra Pounds Paducah

The Electra Tigers broke out in a big way Friday night, belting Paducah to the tune of a 29-1 final in five innings

Tyler Coats was the key for the Tigers, throwing five innings of no-hit ball, while helping out his own cause with two doubles and a grand slam from the plate.

The Tigers will be at Quanah Monday afternoon at 4:30 for a district meeting with the Indians.
