We probably won't have a final decision in the Midwestern State basketball coaching search for at least a few days.
MSU Athletic Director Charlie Carr mentioned during Wednesday's press conference that he will put an advisory group together to help with the search, and groups rarely make quick decisions.
Still, attention is on assistants Nelson Haggerty and Tres Segler. The belief is that if Haggerty is named Head Coach, then Segler would stay on as his top assistant and MSU would seek a second assistant.
When we sat down with Haggerty Wednesday, one thing he stressed was that he isn't looking to move up to a Division I job, instead saying that Division II is his "comfort zone."
Haggerty is certainly the players' choice for the job, according to graduating star Chris Hagan, and if he became coach it would minimize the chances of player defections and any negative effects on recruiting.
When we sat down with him he talked about the potential of coaching against his former boss next season.
