HS Baseball Roundup: Raiders Pound Little Elm

The Rider Raiders extended their winning streak to 13 straight games Tuesday night with an 11-0 victory over Little Elm in 6 innings at Hoskins Field.

Ben Smith tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out 12 Lobo batters while allowing just two hits.

Blake Brom led the offensive attack, going 3/4 with a double and a home run, driving in four runs.

The Raiders (20-5, 7-0 in District 4-4A) will visit Lake Dallas Friday night looking to extend a streak where they have not allowed a run in four games, going back to a 3-1 win at Denton Ryan on March 18th.

Their average score the last four games has been 10-0.

Burkburnett Beats Bowie

The Burkburnett Bulldogs moved back over the .500 mark in District 6-3A play with an 11-1 win at Bowie Tuesday night.

The 'Dogs finish the first half of district play with a 3-2 mark, and have to think that a repeat of that in the second go-round would be good enough for a playoff spot. They'll start that quest Friday night at home against Vernon.

The Jackrabbits fall to 1-4 in district play, after a 12-5 non-district record. They will host Graham Friday night in Bowie.

Notre Dame Edges Denton Calvary

The Notre Dame Knights beat Denton Calvary 9-7 Tuesday night behind a strong pitching performance by Danny Otto.

C.J. Macha picked up the save for the Knights.

Electra Falls to Clarendon

The Electra Tigers fell 11-7 at Clarendon Tuesday night in District 7-A action.

They are scheduled to host Memphis Saturday at 1 PM.
