MSU Spring Football Game Saturday

It has flown under the radar with all of the ups and downs of the Basketball team, but MSU Spring Football is already winding down.

The Annual Maroon & Gold Game will be played this Saturday, April 9, at 12 noon at the MSU Practice Field.

It will be at the practice field due to the Region I-4A soccer tournament this weekend at Memorial Stadium, which will include the Wichita Falls HS Lady Coyotes.

MSU's 2010 team started 5-0 before losing four of its last seven games to finish 8-4, missing the NCAA playoffs and falling to Washburn 45-14 in the Lower Kanza Bowl.

This year they'll be working to figure out whether Brandon Kelsey will be the answer at quarterback, replacing 2009 Harlon Hill Award finalist Zack Eskridge, who graduated after being injured late in the season.

It will also be a chance for upper-classmen who are backups to show they deserve more playing time before a class of 37 freshman recruits joins the team in the fall.
