Idea Wichita Falls Announces Winner

Some jobs may be opening up for Texomans.   Today Idea Wichita Falls had its second annual luncheon where they announced this year's grand prize winner.    All supporters and contestants gathered at Midwestern State University.  They were all there to find this years first prize winner.

A total of six new entrepreneurs gathered together today along with family and friends to support each other and also find out who would be walking away with the grand prize.  All of them have been working hard for the past few months to put together their business plans and finally present them in front of a panel of five judges. This years winner went to Kenny's All Purpose Seasoning, located in Scotland Texas.

Even though Kenny's business won the grand prize, all the finalists in this competition left feeling like winners.  The top three winners receive thousands of dollars of cash prizes and free access to professional services such as legal, accounting, and marketing assistance. Idea Wichita Falls is not just a competition. The purpose is to create more jobs and leaders for our community

A new communications tower being proposed in Wichita Falls is raising concerns. One local business owner fears the tower will scare away visitors driving along the highway. The proposed location is currently 1212 Broad Street, near the Motel 6 off 12th Street.  The communications tower is expected to be nearly 165 feet high, and is located near several business and the overpass.
