Uncut Exclusive Interview With Congressman Mac Thornberry - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Uncut Interview With Congressman Mac Thornberry on Government Shutdown

Newschannel 6 asked District 13 U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry some tough questions  about the looming federal government deadline to get a budget done or face a shutdown that would furlough some 800,000 federal workers and stop payment to members of the military.

On Thursday the House passed a Continuing Resolution that would fund the government for another week and fund the military for the rest of the fiscal year. The Senate Democrats do not like the Resolution because it cuts another $12-billion and includes abortion restrictions.

In our interview with the Congressman we asked him several questions about how a shutdown would affect you. How military families that live paycheck to paycheck were expected to get by with only a week's pay.

Watch the attached video to this story and hear his answers.

Newschannel 6 will be checking in with the Congressman again on Friday to get the latest from his office on progress or the lack of it on a budget or Continuing Resolution deal.
