Jessica Abuchaibe

Joining Newschannel 6 as a reporter in 2011, Jessica Abuchaibe is here with the priority of making the voices of Wichita Falls heard.

Abuchaibe came from WSVN 7 News, the Fox affiliate in Miami, Florida where she worked in the production crew of the News Operations Department, and also as a freelance reporter for Deco Drive, their entertainment segment.

Jessica has also gained her television experience at the national level where she interned at MTV Networks working in departments such as Music, Talent & Artist Relations, Castings, and even Show Programming, while studying Broadcast Journalism.

Graduating from the University of Miami with honors, she received her Bachelor's in Communications, Double Majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Psychology with a Minor in Dance. Jessica created, launched, produced, and hosted the University of Miami's First Musical Talent Show "Musical Expression" for 3 years with the show being broadcasted through Comcast Channel 96 in Coral Gables, Florida. Before graduating, Abuchaibe made sure to pass on the reins to the newer students for them to explore and continue the show.

Born in Miami, Florida and raised also in Elmhurst, Illinois, from Colombian and Arabic descent, Abuchaibe is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. She learned Spanish from her parents and further developed it through school. She learned French taking honor level courses for 4 years and Italian while studying abroad at the American Institute for Foreign Study in Rome, Italy.

Aside from traveling, Jessica loves culture, art, music, politics, working out, and investigative reporting. While her interests and background make her diverse, she enjoys learning about the everyday events in her community and exploring new things in the world.   The motto Jessica lives by is, "The mind is a very powerful tool. Once I set my mind on doing something, I'll do anything and everything possible to accomplish it."
