Rider vs Denton Ryan

The Sunrise Optimist Softball Complex had another Raider-Raider battle. This one going to the Denton Ryan Lady Raiders.

Friday night, Ryan upset the #16 Rider Lady Raiders 6-5, taking sole position of first place in the district.

Rider trailed Ryan most of the game, but the Lady Raiders never seemed to give up. Ryan's biggest lead was 6-1 heading into the bottom of 6th. Rider score four unanswered runs but their comeback came up just one run short.

The Lady Raiders are now 21-7 overall and 7-2 in the district. Their next game is Tuesday against Decatur in non-district play.

WFHS vs Mineral Wells

The Wichita Falls Lady Coyotes also took the field at Sunrise against Mineral Wells in non-district action.

WFHS trailed 3-0 after the top of the 3rd inning, but the Lady Coyotes got the bats working. They scored four runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to take the lead, but couldn't hold on. Lady Rams scored eight runs in the 7th inning for the 14-12 win.  Allison Grady had a terrific game for the Lady Coyotes. She had triple with 5 RBI.

The Lady Coyotes are now 10-19 overall and 1-6 in the district.

Olney vs Windthorst

The Windthorst Lady Trojans took care of Olney for the 14-0 shutout win. Brittney Schreiber only allowed 1 hit with nine strikeouts.

Windthorst is now 21-3 overall and 6-0 in district play.

Iowa Park vs Hirschi

The Lady Hawks stormed by Hirschi for the 11-0 win in five innings. Iowa Park's Kelly Woods went 3/3, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2-R HR, 2B.
