"A Walk in My Shoes"

Through a 5K walk and run one organization is hoping to reach more families and individuals in crisis.

Helping Hands and Hearts nonprofit held the event with the help of MSU students.

Residents came out for a quick run where afterward they were greeted with activities and treats.

Helping Hands and Hearts helps those who simply can't help themselves, offering clothes, dishes, and other necessities.  So far the organization has helped more than 225 families.

"This is a great opportunity for us, one, to be able to get the actual professional experience that we need to help non-profits as well as corporate and military, public affairs and public relations," said student Michael Counter.

The organization also has a retail shop located at  714 Brook.
