Bowie High School Has A New Principal

A new Bowie High School principal has been voted in by school board trustees.

Kelly Shackelford, the current junior high principal, was promoted a month after former Principal Mark Neese offered up his resignation.

Shackelford first came to Bowie in 2002 as a science teacher and coach.  He moved to assistant principal for the high school in 2006, where he remained until moving to the junior high.

Superintendent Steven Monkres spoke in support of Shackelford's strength as a leader, saying his move to the high school would, "create a seamless transition."
