Texomans Rally In Support Of Public Education

Several Texomans rallied Thursday night in the parking lot at Memorial Stadium.

The rally was dubbed the "Pro-Public Education Rally". It was held in support of the Texas public school system which has taken quite a hit because of budget cuts. Those in attendance wanted to band together as one in support of our schools.

Hirschi Chemistry Teacher Shelby Patrick said, "Are we going to be having the same problems? are we going to be solving them supposedly the same way we are now by balancing it on the backs of the teachers and other workers? That should not be the case."

The Wichita Falls public schools are facing a worse case scenario cut of more than $10 million. There have already been layoffs and contracts not renewed within the district.
