MSU Womens Golf Still #10 in Regional Rankings

Midwestern State remained at No. 10 in the latest West Region rankings released Thursday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee.

The Mustangs finished 13th at the George Housewright Invitational hosted by Tarleton State earlier this week and need a strong finish at next week's Lone Star Conference Championships to be held from April 18-20 at The Republic Golf Club in San Antonio.

The top nine teams and top four individuals not associated with the teams qualify for the 2011 NCAA Division II West Regional set for May 1-3 at the Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo.

Currently, the field would include Tarleton State, Grand Canyon (Ariz.), St. Edward's (Texas), Cal State-Monterey Bay, Northeastern State (Okla.), Central Oklahoma, Western Washington, Sonoma State (Calif.) and Nebraska-Omaha.

MSU, Incarnate Word and West Texas A&M occupy the Nos. 9-12 positions, respectively.
