High School Makeup Games

The Wichita Falls High School Lady Coyotes made up their game against Lake Dallas, postponed since Friday, on Wednesday night at Sunrise Optimist Complex, falling 10-0 in five innings.

Delaney Bedunah took the loss for the Lady Coyotes, who fall to 10-21 overall and 1-9 in District 4-4A.

They will close the season Friday night against Rider at Sunrise Optimist Field 1 at 6 PM.

Raiders Miss Chance to Clinch District

The Rider Raiders missed out on a chance to clinch the District 4-4A title outright, falling 3-1 at The Colony Wednesday night in a makeup of a game rained out the night before.

Sloppy defense and quiet bats cost the Raiders, as they made three errors while recording just three base hits.

Matt Dean homered for The Colony, who stays alive for a share of the district title at 8-3, 18-6-1 overall.

Ben Smith took the loss for Rider, whose 16-game winning streak was snapped. The Raiders fall to 23-6 overall and 9-1 in district play.

They will host Denton High Friday afternoon at 4 PM at Hoskins Field, then sit a week until closing the regular season against Wichita Falls High School the following Friday at 7:30 PM, also at Hoskins.

A win in either game will clinch the outright title for Rider. The only way for The Colony to share the title would be for Rider to lose both, and the Cougars to beat Denton in their district finale.
