Rainy Day Reserves On Budget Designed By TX Senate Committee

A Texas Senate Committee has now approved a two-year budget plan for the state, which will offer funds from the Rainy Day Reserves, but only as a last resort.

In the budget plan, the committee made room for $3 billion to be used from the Rainy Day Fund to help balance the total.

The plan will still short the public school system around $4 billion dollars, but officials say the cuts shouldn't be as severe as those approved by the House.
