Texoma Man Pleads Guilty To Arson

A Texoma man entered a plea deal and will soon be heading to prison.

Chad Nichols, 30, pleaded guilty to an arson charge and will serve three years in a Texas Department of Corrections Facility. He will also serve 18 months in a state jail facility for a possession of controlled substance charge.

Nichols was accused of setting an apartment on Austin Street on fire in July 2010. Investigators say a witness told them Nichols walked out of the apartment with a container of lighter fluid.The witness also said she saw him run away as smoke started coming out of the building.
