Nissan Recalls 200,000 Vehicles

Nissan is recalling nearly 200,000 Pathfinders and Infiniti QX4 sport utility vehicles.

The steering column could break causing the driver to lose control.  Nissan says model year 1996 to 2004 Pathfinders and 1997 to 2003 Infinitis could have the steering problem.

It can result from snow and salt entering a hole in the car's strut housing, causing water to collect inside. Over time, the strut housing may corrode, possibly causing the steering column to break.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it's received 35 problem reports.
