HS Softball Preview: City View Lady Mustangs

The City View Lady Mustangs were a solid team all season long, headed for the playoffs from District 9-2A.

But ever since senior Burkburnett transfer Ciara Clampitt was declared eligible to play by the UIL, they've taken it to another level.

The team is undefeated since Clampitt made her debut, and the University of Arkansas commit is 6-0 in the circle, with recent wins over 2A #13 Ponder and then-3A #1 Celina, which have bolstered the team's confidence heading into their playoff matchup Friday against Millsap in Jacksboro.

Another key is factor is that with Clampitt pitching, that allows the Lady Mustangs to move other key pieces around, such as moving Shelby Payne from pitcher to third base and sending Taylor Jenkins to the outfield, where they are more comfortable.
