Man Pleads In False Threat Hoax In Lawton

Officials with the Lawton Correctional Facility say an inmate has pleaded guilty today to mailing white powder to a Comanche County District Attorney's Office.

41-year-old Lloyd Alan Cooper was in court this week, accused of conveying a false hoax threat to the D.A.'s Office in November 2010. In that threat, Cooper sent a note containing white powder with the words "God help us" written in red ink on the paper.

Cooper faces up to five years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a period of supervised release up to three years. He could also be forced to pay restitution.
