HS Softball: Burkburnett Advances to Regional Quarterfinals

The Burkburnett Lady Bulldogs came off of their bye in style, shutting out the Glen Rose Lady Tigers 8-0 in a one-game Area series in Jacksboro Friday night.

Brenna Hennan struck out 15 to pick up the shutout win, while Paige Daino was 3/4 from the plate to lead the offense.

Burkburnett advances to the Regional Quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of the series between Graham and Kennedale that continues Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lady Blues Stadium.

Rider Drops Game 1 to Burges

The Rider Lady Raiders dropped the first game of their best-of-3 Area series against El Paso Burges, 6-3 Friday night at Odessa's Ratliff Complex.

Abby Donnell struck out 14, but two bad innings hurt the Lady Raiders.

Of the six runs allowed by Rider, just four were earned.

The series resumes Saturday morning at 11 a.m., back in Odessa.

City View Sweeps Series vs Caddo Mills

The #7 City View Lady Mustangs finished off their Area Round series against Caddo Mills Friday night with a 4-1 win at Keller's Timber Creek High School.

Ciara Clampitt picked up the win, striking out 10 Lady Foxes in 7 innings of work to stay undefeated since gaining her eligibility in early April.

Skyler Patterson led the offense with a 2/4 night from the plate.

City View will face either #1 Brock or Tom Bean in the Regional Quarterfinals next week.

Windthorst Takes Game 1 From Ralls

The Windthorst Trojanettes won Game 1 of their best-of-3 Area series against Ralls 10-0 in 6 innings Friday night at Abilene Christian's Poly Wells Field.

Brittney Schreiber picked up the win, holding Ralls to just two hits and no runs.

She also added a two-run home run in the second inning, followed immediately by Paige Dillon's solo shot.

Game 2 will be Saturday at 1 p.m., also at Poly Wells Field.

Petrolia Takes Game 1 in Abilene, Too

The #8 Petrolia Lady Pirates took Game 1 of their best-of-3 Area series against Clarendon 6-5 Friday night at Abilene Cooper High School.

Game 2 will be back in Abilene at 11 a.m. Saturday
