Police: Copper Thief Caught In The Act

The Wichita Falls Police Department says officers caught a copper thief in the act overnight.

Police told Newschannel  that at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, an officer found a car parked in front of the old Vetrotex building in the 3900 block of Callfield Road. The officer got out and discovered the front door was unlocked. The officer called for backup to help investigate. Police said the officers did a sweep of the building and found Teddy Monroe James, 41, on the second floor with a light and some tools. Police said James was removing copper from the building. James is facing charges of Burglary of a Building and Theft of Copper.
