Rider's softball team made a statement with a pair of 10-0 wins over El Paso Burges in Odessa to win their Region I-4A Best of 3 Area series.
Abby Donnell led off game two with a solo shot. The sophomore finished 3-4 and scored four runs in the win.
Sophomore Karly Gibson hit a three-run homer in the second inning of game three. Senior shortstop Morgan Lewis finished a perfect 3-3, driving in three runs.
Seymour lost game one of a Region I-A Best of 3 Area series 5-2 on Thursday.
The Lady Panthers scored early and often in game two this morning in Altus, Okla. Parker Baldwin drove in a pair in the top the second. Marley Barker hit a ball to deep left center for a two-run home run in the top of third.
With the game tied at 6-6 in the top of eighth, Haley Fox had a two-out hit. Tatiana Martinez drove her in with an RBI double. Later in the inning, Baldwin stole home to give Seymour an 8-6 lead going into the bottom half.
The defense held to earn Seymour the win. Carol Swindell struck out 10 in the circle.
The Lady Panthers carried the momentum into game three, coming away with a 2-1 win to complete the series comeback. Seymour will play Windthorst in the Regional Quarterfinals.
Iowa Park put a 10-4 road loss in Mineral Wells in the past, as their Region I-3A Best of 3 Area series shifted to Iowa Park.
The Lady Hawks won game two 2-1 to force a winner-take-all game three.
McKenna Untalan scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first for the first run of the game. With the game knotted at one, Baylee Voigt drove in Kelley Woods to hit to deep left in the top of the third.
Iowa Park would hang on to win it 5-4.
Graham also entered the weekend facing a 1-0 series deficit in its Region I-3A Best of 3 Area home-and-home series against Kennedale.
After falling behind 9-1 after the top of the second, the Lady Blues scores six runs in the bottom half to make it close. Beka Jennings, Hyedi Viehmann and Macy Nantz all drove in runs in the inning.
The two teams traded runs the rest of the way. Graham had two on, trailing 10-9 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but the team was unable to capitalize.
Kennedale earns the sweep and will Burkburnett in the Regional Quarterfinals.
