Texas Senate Approves Looser Gun Restrictions For Lawmakers

A bill that would allow Texas lawmakers who have a concealed handgun license to carry weapons into places where the general public cannot is moving through congress.

Lawmakers would be allowed to carry a weapon into bars, churches, sporting events, and businesses.  Supporters say those who would be allowed to carry those guns in this bill are targets for assassinations and should be able to carry weapons for protection at all times.

The bill now goes to the house for consideration.
