Notre Dame Softball Departs for State

The Notre Dame Lady Knight softball team is on their way to State...again.

For the fifth time in the last six years, the Lady Knights are going to the TAPPS State Tournament in Waco.

After beating Desoto Canterbury Episcopal on Monday, the Notre Dame softball team left Wichita Falls Wednesday for the drive down to Waco, where they will face Shiner St. Paul High School in the State Semifinals on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

The other side of the bracket includes District 1-1A/2A rival Watauga Harvest Christian, from whom the Lady Knights took two of three this year, including a tiebreaker for the district title.

Before heading down, a pair of Lady Knights took the time to talk exclusively to Newschannel 6 Sports!

Critics say the NFL's decision to force players to stand during the national anthem if on the field say the policy prioritizes the league's mainstream appeal over athletes.
