Petrolia Takes Battle of Lady Pirates in 5 Innings

It was a game Jack Sparrow would have loved Thursday night in Henrietta.

The #4 Petrolia Lady Pirates rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the #10 Perrin-Whitt Lady Pirates 12-2 in five innings in a game where the Jolly Rogers outnumbered the Red, White and Blue.

Petrolia scored one in the second, six in the third and five in the fourth for the shortened win.

Jamie Kowalick and Kenzie Payne were each 2/3 from the plate for Petrolia, while Alaina Anderson tossed a no-hitter with seven strikeouts.

The two teams will meet again Friday at Mineral Wells, with Game 2 starting at 6 p.m. and Game 3, if needed, starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second game.

Friday night's action will be broadcast on the radio in the Wichita Falls area at 103.9 FM.
