NYPD Arrests Two Men In Terror Plot

New York police arrested two men they say were planning terrorist attacks against synagogues, or possibly even the Empire State Building.  Fortunately their plan didn't get carried out.

26-year-old Ahmed Ferhani and 20-year-old Mohamed Mamdouh are both American immirgrants.  One man was caught after buying guns and a grenade from an undercover officer.

Police say the suspects were acting on their own, and that the men hadn't figured out exactly where they would attack or when.

One of the suspects mentioned possibly growing a beard so he could pass for a Hasidic Jew.  Both men face state terror charges, which could land them in prison for life if they are convicted.  Meanwhile, New York City has one thousand police officers assigned to deal solely with terror threats.
