The obesity epidemic is hitting funeral homes. As more people are becoming obese it means bigger caskets need to be made.
We spoke with a few local funeral homes who say there is a rise in requests for larger caskets. It costs more money, sometimes even more man power. It means a bigger grave needs to be dug, and it takes extra equipment to lower it down. As waist sizes have expanded so have caskets.
