TX House Votes To Allow Burial of Radioactive Waste

Low level radioactive waste could be on its way to the Lone Star State.

Texas house members voted to allow a remote low level radioactive waste site in West Texas to bury material from dozens of states.  The house bill allows Dallas-based waste control specialists to set disposal fees for 36 states.  The senate approved the bill last month and must vote on it again because of house amendments.

Opponents of the bill say it will bring more radioactive waste to Texas than the state isn't prepared to handle.
