Baseball: Seymour's Season Ends With Third Loss to Hamlin

The Seymour Panthers swept their way through two rounds of playoff action, never being seriously challenged.

But in the Region I-A Quarterfinals Wednesday night in Albany, a familiar foe stood in front of them: the #2 team in the state, and District 8-A champion, Hamlin Pied Pipers.

Seymour fought Hamlin tough for the third time this year, but for the third time Hamlin got the win, this time by a 6-4 final.

It was a one-game series, so that ends the Panthers' season with a 13-10 record.

Aaron Barton got the start for Seymour and pitched well, but Hamlin's bats were too strong.

The Pied Pipers improve to 27-6 overall and will await the winner of the series between #5 New Deal and Crosbyton, which Crosbyton leads 1-0 after a 6-2 upset win Wednesday night in Woodrow.
