Texoma Man Sentenced On An Indecency With A Child Charge

A 69 year old Texoma man was sentenced to serve eight years behind bars.

Fernando Ruiz was convicted of indecency with a child by exposure. A Wichita County jury found the Ruiz guilty Wednesday afternoon.

Ruiz was arrested on July 8, 2010. A 13 year old videotaped Ruiz exposing himself through a hole in his fence and then called police. The teen testified before a jury that Ruiz had exposed himself to her on numerous occasions. The jury took only 20 minutes to convict him.

Judge Barney Fudge handed down a sentence only two years from the maximum penalty citing the defendant's lack of contrition and total lack of accountability for his acts.

His lawyer said Ruiz plans to appeal.
