The #7 Rider Raiders are no strangers to facing Fort Worth Arlington Heights in the playoffs.
This is the sixth year in the last eight that the Raiders and Yellowjackets have met, with Rider taking the first two, Heights the next two and Rider last year.
So far, that pattern seems to be holding up, as the Raiders took a 6-3 come-from-behind win over Heights in Graham Thursday night in Game 1 of their Best-of-3 Region I-4A Semifinal series.
Mason Stone, Kyler Ritchie and Christien Sager each had 2 hits, and Cameron Allen (4-1) pitched a complete game for the victory.
Game 2 will be Friday night back in Graham at 7:30 p.m., with Game 3, if needed, Saturday at 4:30 p.m., following Rider's graduation.
The Archer City Wildcats, #10 in the state, got off to a big start in Game 1 of their Region II-A Semifinal series against Dodd City, scoring four runs in the first, but the Hornets had the last laugh, rallying back for an 8-5 victory in Ponder.
