Wichita Falls High School welcomed its new principal, Kenneth Shipley.

Shipley is an educator with 22 years experience, 16 of them as a middle or high school principal. WFISD Superintendent George Kazanas announced Shipley's selection in an automated telephone announcement to WFHS parents Thursday.

Currently, Shipley is a middle school principal at Lake Olympia Middle School in Fort Bend Independent School District, near Houston. He leads a Texas Education Agency -Recognized school with a diverse student population of 1,300 students. He replaces Chad Brewster, who resigned.

Kazanas stressed that Shipley has a proven track record as a strong disciplinarian and a leader in classroom instruction. He and his wife have family members who live near Wichita Falls, and they are excited to relocate here, Kazanas said.
