The #10 Archer City Wildcats fought back from losing Game 1 of their Region II-A Semifinal series Thursday to the Dodd City Hornets, winning Game 2 Saturday 9-7 to force a decisive third game at Ponder High School.
They may wish they hadn't.
In a nightmare of a game, the Wildcats committed 15 errors to fall 21-1 in five innings and end their season on a sour note.
The game was tied 1-1 after one inning, before the floodgates opened in the second.
The Hornets scored nine runs in that frame, then added four in the third, six in the fourth and one more in the fifth for the final margin.
The Wildcats' season ends at 30-7-1, and Regional Semifinalists.
The Rider Raiders, who swept Arlington Heights in their half of the Region I-4A Semifinal bracket, will face Burleson in the Regional Final next week.
The Elk won a wild Game 3 over Lake Dallas 18-13 in Grapevine Saturday to advance.
From the bottom of the first through the top of the fourth, the teams combined to score 24 runs over six half-innings.
Date and location details have not been set yet, but the series is expected to be played in Graham, site of Rider's series against Heights.
