OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Lawyers for a couple challenging Oklahoma's gay marriage ban, and the clerk who refused to grant them a license, are headed to a federal appeals court. Judges at the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado heard arguments last week about Utah's gay-marriage ban, and will take up the Oklahoma case tomorrow.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Some Oklahoma public school teachers and school administrators have joined a group of House Democrats in calling for an increase in tax dollars spent on public education. Educators and Democratic lawmakers gathered at the Capitol today, about two weeks after thousands of teachers and school administrators rallied at the Capitol for more classroom funding.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Three of the top Republican contenders for the open U.S. Senate seat being vacated by U.S. Senator Tom Coburn are touting their conservative credentials in a town hall-style forum. Former state Senator Randy Brogdon, two-term Congressman James Lankford, and former House Speaker T.W. Shannon attended today's luncheon meeting of the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A 27-year-old first-term state representative from Oklahoma City who put $500,000 of his own money into his campaign has amassed the biggest war chest in the race to replace Republican U.S. Representative James Lankford. Federal campaign finance documents provided by Republican state Rep. Mike Turner's campaign show he spent about $170,000 during the reporting cycle that ended March 31st running in the 5th Congressional District.
