DALLAS (AP) - Kari Lehtonen had 37 saves for his first career postseason victory as the Dallas Stars beat Anaheim 3-0 last night in their first home playoff game in six years. Dallas captain Jamie Benn skated out of the penalty box to score late in the first period. Rookie Valeri Nichushkin added a goal for the Stars in Game 3 of the best-of-seven series.
(AP) - Donnie Murphy lined a go-ahead single up the middle with one out in the eighth inning as the Texas Rangers rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Oakland Athletics 4-3 last night. Sean Doolittle allowed a leadoff double to Kevin Kouzmanoff. Mitch Moreland sacrificed him to third before Murphy's hit. Murphy and Kouzmanoff are both former A's players.
SEATTLE (AP) - The Houston Astros broke a seven-game skid with a 7-2 win over the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Matt Dominguez homered and drove in three runs. It's the seventh straight loss for Seattle. The Astros took advantage of an error by Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager in the sixth inning to score four unearned runs off Felix Hernandez and break a 2-all tie.
SEATTLE (AP) - Right-hander Scott Feldman has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Houston Astros due to biceps tendinitis. Houston recalled right-hander Collin McHugh from Triple A Oklahoma City. Feldman is 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA in four starts. Feldman felt the injury while preparing to throw a bullpen session.
