Candidate's Last Name Tainted By Weiner Scandal

Name recognition is something that candidates usually want around election time.  But one woman running for a local office in Tennessee says she may be paying a political price simply because of her last name. 

The candidate's problem is written all over her campaign signs, her name is Sheri Weiner.  The candidate's last name evokes the sexting scandal rocking Washington right now. 

Several of Sheri Weiner's signs have been stolen and destroyed.  Sheri says Congressman Anthony Weiner's misbehavior appears to be taking a toll on her campaign.

"I've gotten very used to saying 'no relation' and I wish he were not on the planet," she said.

Sheri said she's ready to represent Bellevue, TN on the Metro Council, if only voters can get past her last name.
