TO Junior Golf Tournament to Tee Off Next Week

The 55th Annual Texas-Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament will tee off at 7 a.m. Monday morning at three golf courses in the Wichita Falls area.

As with the last few years, Wichita Falls Country Club and the Champions Course at Weeks Park will host, but this year the tournament will return to River Creek Park in Burkburnett, which replaces Sheppard Air Force Base's course in the three-course rotation.

Action will start Monday morning, with play at all three courses. Morning action at Weeks Park will include Boys and Girls 10-11 and 12-13. Morning play at River Creek will be Girls 14-15 and OC, while WFCC will host the Boys OC.

Afternoon play Monday will see Boys 14-15 starting at Weeks Park at noon, while the second half of the Boys OC will tee off at WFCC, also at noon.

A total of 37 Texoma natives will be among the 356 players across four age groups, each split into Boys' and Girls' divisions.

A breakdown:

In the Boys' Open Championship there are 11 Texomans out of 117 competitors.

In the Girls' Open Championship there are just 3 Texomans out of 53 players.

In the Boys' 14-15 year-old flight there are 8 Texoma representatives out of 79 total.

In the Girls' 14-15 flight there are two players from Texoma out of 21.

In the Boys' 12-13, three Texomans will compete in a field of 40 players.

In the Girls' 12-13 there are three Texomans out of 17 competitors.

In the Boys' 10-11, seven Texomans will compete out of 22 total.

There are no Texoman girls age 10-11, out of a field of 7 players.
