Archer County Commissioners Enact Disaster Declaration

Archer County took steps Tuesday to keep residents safe.
Archer County Commissioners met in an emergency session and have put a Disaster Declaration in place.
It allowed commissioners to approve a ban on the use of any type of fireworks in the county.
Texas Governor Rick Perry must approve the declaration or else it expires in seven days.
If it is allowed to expire commissioners could meet again to extend it for another seven days. That would cover the July 4th holiday.
Commissioners also put a burn ban in place in Archer County for the next 90 days.
