Blonien Running Away from T-O Girls' Field

Megan Blonien of Altus extended her lead Tuesday in the Girls' Open flight of the Texas-Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament, by shooting a 1-under 70 at the Wichita Falls Country Club to sit 3-under for the tournament, 10 shots ahead of her nearest competitor.

That competitor is three-time T-O top-five finisher April McCoy of Carrollton, who shot a 3-over 74 to move to +7 for the week.

Burkburnett's Brenna Moore sits in 4th place at 10-over par after a Tuesday 77, a shot behind Kaci McCartan of Plano.

The girls will finish their course rotation Wednesday at Weeks Park, before the field is cut to the low 24 players and ties for the final round, set for Thursday also at Weeks Park.

Oaks Takes Boys' Lead at Weeks

Jacob Oaks of Ardmore, OK overtook first-round leader Nolen Stratton of Austin, TX with a 4-under 68 in Tuesday's second round of the Boys' Open Championship at Weeks Park.

Stratton shot an even-par 70 to stay 1-under par overall, two shots behind Oaks.

Cullen Stahl of Lawton is in a 3-way tie for fifth place at 8-over par 151.

Matt Porter of Seymour is in a tie for 17th place at 13-over-par 156.

The boys will return to Wichita Falls Country Club for their third round Thursday.
